Helen Dowsett was a master gardener who was in love with her garden and promoting gardening in general. She was also an accomplished artist who over the years drew every plant in her garden, and at five acres it was a large garden. There was also what the family referred to as the "Bug Book" which lists all the insects of Western Washington and is used as an identification guide.
Helen was the wife of Joe Dowsett, one of our founders, and her estate has kindly allowed republication of some of her articles and artwork. When available we have added current resources but the articles themselves are as written.
